Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Lindsey tipped us off to this ridiculously cute video of a corgi puppy, so we have to include it on the blog. There are some serious positives and negatives to the corgi. We're hoping you can help us figure out if one outweighs the other.

Corgi - "I can't jump up there with these tiny legs"
Size: 25-30 lbs
Life expectancy: 12-15 years
Grooming: Easy to groom
Shedding: Twice a year

Pros
Did I mention this video?
Loyal and intelligent dog, easy to train
Herds people

Cons
Herds people (by nipping at their heels)
Barks a lot
Needs a decent amount of exercise

The barking may be a serious concern, but they really are cute. Anyone have experience with corgis before? Let us know in the comments, and please vote in the poll on the right.

  1. LOVE corgis. Andrew's parents have a corgi, and I haven't noticed her barking too much or nipping at people yet - then again, I've seen the dog like three times. I think his parents used to breed and/or show corgis, so if you guys end up looking at getting one more seriously I can probably get some information for you.

  2. Another great corgi video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glii-kazad8

Also, I'm embarrassed to admit that I know corgis won this whole deal. I think corgis have a huge cult following that I never realized existed. Probably because they look like awesome fox-dogs.
